As the Winston Cup drivers enjoyed a week off, the Busch Series rolled into St. Louis for the Charter Pipeline 250. The 200 lap event was delayed by the heavy rains the swept the area early Saturday morning, and rolled to a start a half hour late amidst concerns about the drastic temperature changes between final practice and the start of the race. Record Number of Cautions Shape Richmond Busch Race

The Hardee's 250 rolled to a start under the lights of Richmond International Raceway amidst concern for injured driver Jerry Nadeau. The weather was clear as the field followed the pace car onto the <= mile oval for the start of the start of the race.
