2007 Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec Mid-Size Luxury Sedan

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup has slightly revised bodywork for 2007, including a more aggressive front end that now comes to a point. The E320 Bluetec, shown here, has earth-friendly diesel technology for great gas mileage and clean emissions. Other than a navigation system designed by drunk monkeys, the Mercedes-Benz E320 Bluetec is a great car for long trips. It has a smooth-as-Scarlett-Johansson ride and an engine so quiet you'd never believe it's a diesel. Read More »

2007 Chrysler Aspen Full-Size Near-Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle

From the front, the Chrysler Aspen looks quite different from its sibling, the Dodge Durango. With squared-off corners, a bold grille and character lines running down the hood, it looks more like a luxury SUV than the Durango ever did. Blonde wood trim and lots of chrome make the Aspen's interior look upscale and sophisticated. When you add options like a navigation system, DVD player and power rear liftgate, it feels like a true luxury SUV for a lot less money. Read More »

2007 Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart Mid-Size Sedan

A new, attention-getting front end looks sporty and aggressive to match the Galant's newfound athletic pretensions. It's definitely a fun car to drive in Ralliart trim, even more so than the better-looking Eclipse. Other than some areas with chintzy plastics, the Galant has a nice interior. It's a comfortable place to be on the highway, with a smooth ride and relatively roomy cabin. Read More »

2007 Audi A6 4.2 Quattro AT6 Full-Size Luxury Sedan

The 2007 Audi A6 is a fast and stylish car, that's for sure. But it doesn't have giant wings and air scoops that might attract undue attention. Making a run for the border would be fantastic in this cabin, with excellent materials and fantastic sound insulation. Audi still makes some of the best interiors money can buy. Read More »

2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI Compact Hatchback Sedan

Volkswagen's new Golf GTI is actually bigger than it looks. Now available with four doors, this fun-to-drive VW can route 200 horsepower through a high-tech, dual-clutch automatic transmission. It's disappointing to see the quality of the GTI's interior drop. The previous version of this car set the benchmark for fit and finish, but the new one doesn't quite match its predecessor's perfection. Read More »

2007 Isuzu Ascender Mid-Size Sport Utility Vehicle

If it looks like a Trailblazer, drives like a Trailblazer and sounds like a Trailblazer, it must be a Trailblazer, right? Wrong. This is the Isuzu Ascender, a Chevrolet clone that shows how pathetic Isuzu has become. It's the same story on the inside, where Isuzu's Ascender is virtually identical to its Chevrolet Trailblazer counterpart. Read More »

2007 Audi RS 4 Compact Sports Sedan

The Audi RS 4 looks pretty much like the more mundane Audi A4, but the resemblance is only skin deep. The RS 4 is closer to a purebred race car than it is to a family grocery-getter. With carbon fiber trim and firm, Recaro leather seats, the Audi RS 4 has a cabin that's all business. It shows off Audi's excellent fit and finish, and it even comes with a built-in lap timer for the racetrack. Read More »

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Mid-Size Sport Utility Vehicle

Despite its rather humble price, the Hyundai Santa Fe appears to draw design influence from expensive luxury SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5. It's a good-looking vehicle that drives better than its affordable price would suggest. Efficient use of space let Hyundai squeeze in an optional third-row seat in the new 2007 Santa Fe. Read More »

2007 Nissan Xterra Compact Sport Utility Vehicle

Form follows function in the Nissan Xterra. The boxy body shape wraps around its truck-like frame for good clearance driving over boulders and through the woods. All the Xterra's controls are logical and within easy reach, but hard plastics on the dash feel like they came from Fisher-Price. Read More »

2007 Infiniti M35 Full-Size Luxury Sport Sedan

A sleek, sporty shape makes the Infiniti M35 an eye-catching luxury car that heaps up performance and comfort in equal doses. It will take some time to get used to all the buttons on the M35's dash. All its high-tech features are impressive once you learn how to use them. Read More »
