Contacting a Race Car Driver

QUESTION: Hello. My 22-year old son died on October 22, and it was his wish for some of his ashes to be scattered from a race car. Since Boris Said was his favorite driver, we are trying to contact him.

Could you pass this to someone who could put us in touch with him?

ANSWER: We extend to you our deepest sympathies for the loss of your child.

We wish that it were possible to help you honor his wishes. However we believe that it is illegal to scatter ashes in nearly every state. You will need to check with your district attorney to find out for sure.

Currently Mr. Said is driving for Tom Milner's BMW team in the Speed GT Series. I do not have contact information for the series, but it is likely that they have a website.

If it is legal to scatter ashes in your state then I suggest you contact the series who may help you locate Mr. Said. If he cannot be contacted, consider calling your local chapter of the Sports Car Club of America. Perhaps there is a driver who will be willing to help you.
