CARFAX(R), one of the major providers of vehicle history reporting, is attempting to make shopping for a used car less risky. The company has launched its new "Buyback Guarantee." With this guarantee, CARFAX will buy back any vehicle a consumer or dealer finds had a severe problem reported by a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) that was not included in the CARFAX report.
The CARFAX Buyback Guarantee comes on every report that is free of DMV-reported problems. Consumers can get a CARFAX Vehicle History Report backed by the Buyback Guarantee by clicking here. There are more than 25,000 dealerships across the country that subscribe to CARFAX.

State DMVs record serious problems, including total loss events such as severe wrecks, major odometer problems and Lemon history, by reporting those issues on vehicle titles. CARFAX Vehicle History Reports cover these problems from DMVs in all 50 states and Canada, in addition to disclosing many other types of data.
CARFAX research indicates 87 percent of consumers are more likely to purchase a car once they have been able to review a CARFAX report.
