2003 Nissan Pathfinder Mid-Size SUV

Nissan's souped-up Pathfinder sport-utility wagon romps due to its forceful powertrain. The aluminum twin-cam 3.5-liter V6 produces 250 hp when teamed with a manual transmission, or 240 hp with an automatic. Pathfinder brings choices for rear 2WD or a part-time 4WD traction. The optional 4WD device uses a transfer case for switching from rear-wheel to four-wheel high-gear while underway at speeds up to 50 mph. More equipment goes to 2003 models, such as side-impact as well as side curtain-style air bags, a new four-spoke steering wheel and electronic release mechanism for the back hatch door. Pathfinder's deluxe LE edition gets leather-clad seats standard, and a new Premium Package brings the VDC and TCS systems plus a tire pressure monitoring system.
