2003 Nissan Murano Mid-Size Crossover SUV

This is Nissan's first entry to the mid-size class of sport-utility wagons that ride on the chassis of a car rather than a truck. Consider Murano quite an attractive package -- it's shapely in style, rich in cabin accommodations and enthused with power. The boxy parameters of a SUV have been disguised by sculptural treatment of body panels and wraparound elements that soften all hard points. Under the hood Nissan has installed a big V6 engine that displaces 3.5 liters and produces 240 hp. It links to Nissan's advanced new CVT as the standard transmission. Murano stocks either the standard FWD model or a version with automatic AWD. In the four-place cabin, the wagon totes a load of comforts and sophisticated electronic gadgets, such as a standard six-inch information monitor.
