2003 Dodge Neon Compact Sedan

Dodge's compact sedan seems like a miniature version of Intrepid, with its roof arching over sensuously shaped doors to merge rear pillars in the descent to a curt tail. But that blunt-but-round prow with cross-hair grille looks more like Viper. Neon's 2003 editions include four different models -- the base SE and sporty R/T plus new SXT packaged with popular equipment and an ultimate performance issue, Neon SRT-4. SRT-4 becomes the second-quickest car in Dodge's line, as its zero-to-60 time is overcome only by the all-powerful Viper. Driving it is a new high-output 2.4-liter tubro-charged four-in-line engine enthused with 215 hp and linked to a heavy-duty five-speed manual gearbox. Behind the scene, SRT-4 gets a sport-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and 17-inch alloy wheels capped by performance tires. New front and rear fascia mark all Neon models in 2003, and there are new wheels or wheel covers for all plus new color options like Blaze Red Crystal Pearl. For Neon SXT, R/T and SRT-4, Solar Yellow is also a choice.
