Lucerne will arrive in the fall of 2005 as a 2006 model, with optional V8 power. Styling appears strong, yet elegant, with a shapely face coated in monochromatic paint but flashes of bright chrome on the grille, flank moldings and door handles.

Lucerne's engine options concern a 3.8-liter V6 worth 195 hp or a 4.6-liter V8 pegged at 275 hp. The front-wheel-drive (FWD) Lucerne, destined to replace the LeSabre series in Buick's line, will employ Magnetic Ride Control coupled with StabiliTrak to enhance ride quality and vehicle control.

Additional on-board gear ranges from a remote starter to rain-sensing wipers, front seats heated or cooled, and a 245-watt Harman Kardon audio system.
