Mercedes-Benz Enhances European Delivery

Beginning with model year 2004, European Delivery will become an even more popular "option" for those looking to combine the purchase of a 2004 Mercedes with a European vacation. On the heels of celebrating the 40th anniversary of its European Delivery program, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) announced today that it will begin offering five percent off the price of some of its most popular models purchased through the program.

"Our European Delivery Program has been an industry leader since it was established 40 years ago to accommodate our customers, many of whom enjoy incorporating the purchase of their vehicle with a European vacation or business travel," said Michael Augello, department manager, special models/process development for MBUSA. "As an added perk for our customers, we will now offer a price savings through European Delivery purchases of some of our most popular models."

The standard European Delivery package includes a variety of benefits at no additional cost to the customer, including a night's accommodation at a first-class hotel, taxi vouchers, and a tour of the factory in Sindelfingen, Germany. Since most customers who take advantage of the program usually schedule the pick-up of their vehicle around a European vacation or business trip, the package also includes 15 days of full European car insurance coverage with no deductible, so customers can enjoy driving their new cars throughout the continent with peace of mind.

When the customer is ready to return to the States, there are 14 no-cost drop-off points throughout Europe where the car can be dropped off at the customer's convenience. Shipping and delivery to the U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealer of the customer's choosing, including U.S. Customs duty, is all inclusive in the program.

For extended travel plans, MBUSA offers customers The Black Forest-Alps Rally Package, a self-guided "rally" tour through Germany and Austria which replaces the standard package with accommodations for five nights at exceptional hotels and a recommended itinerary for $1,200 per couple.

MBUSA's European Delivery program is available through all of its U.S. dealers and on-line at www.mbusa.com. The web site has a wealth of details on the program, from travel tips to the ability to let viewers build their own virtual Mercedes by selecting from a variety of color combinations and options to determine the price of a specific configuration.

The five percent offer is available through the European Delivery Program for C-Class, E-Class, SLK roadster and CLK coupe models.
