A top case sits behind the passenger seat and may be large enough to hold two full-face helmets. Like the tank bag, a top case is meant to hold lightweight items. Overloading a top case puts more weight on the rear of the motorcycle, thus lightening the front wheel. Traction and steering suffer when the top case is overloaded.
