ZAP Announces First Shipment and Sale of US-Legal Smart Cars to Dealership in Florida

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida -- Automotive pioneer ZAP (PCX:ZP)(NYSE Arca:ZP) announced today that Robert Sharon, a school teacher from Wellington, Florida, has taken delivery of the first US approved Smart Car in the State of Florida through ZAP's authorized dealership in West Palm Beach.

"I wanted to take this moment to thank ZAP as we receive our very first shipment of Smart Cars," said Jonathan Ortiz of ZAP of Palm Beach, also known as Foreign Affairs Automotive. "The attention these small automobiles get is amazing. We have been a luxury independent automobile dealership for over 24 years, and together with ZAP our company will continue to progress, now with the ability to sell new cars. We are extremely excited to see the full line of fuel efficient vehicles such as the OBVIO ! that ZAP is striving to offer to the American public through its dealer network."

ZAP plans to announce other dealerships around the United States as they prepare for distribution. ZAP's first Florida customer, Robert Sharon, has been a Smart Car fan since he toured Europe as a concert pianist in 2000. He ordered a Smart Car last year through ZAP and is excited about being the first Smart Car owner in Florida.

"I pointed the Smart Cars out to my music students while we were touring in Greece over the summer and I think they are almost as excited as I am," said Sharon, who is a concert pianist. "I love everything about the Smart Car, the maneuverability, flexibility and economy. I also drive a Mercedes E320 station wagon, so now my wagon has a baby brother."

ZAP of Palm Beach, located at 1681 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach, is part of a new ZAP Authorized Dealer Network that caters to fuel-efficient car buyers with cars that specialize in advanced fuel technologies, including fuel-efficient cars powered by gas, electric cars, hydrogen and other fuels. ZAP is ramping up distribution for the Smart Car along with other cars that seek to target the Micro-Car niche with advanced technology vehicles. ZAP is introducing an all-electric 'City-Car' called the XEBRA(TM) this year and plans to introduce a "trybrid" automobile through a Brazilian venture in 2007.
