The 2008 BMW Z4 M compact sports car is based on the Z4 product. We believe it is one of the best rides on the market today. This car is under-appreciated and more people looking to purchase sports cars should consider them. The design is unique and the engine is large giving this sports car fantastic power.

The 2008 BMW Z4 M sports car comes in coupe (MSRP $50,100) and convertible (Roadster, MSRP $52,100) versions. The coupe version competes with the Audi, TT, Chevrolet Corvette, Infiniti G37, Lotus Exige, Nissan 350Z, and Porsche Cayman. The convertible version competes with the Audi TT, Chevrolet Corvette, Mercedes-Benz SLK AMG, Nissan 350Z, and Porsche Boxster. Both versions are available with a 330-horsepower, 3.2-liter I6 engine, rear-wheel drive system, rear-limited slip differential drive train, and a six-speed manual transmission. It also has four-wheel independent, multi-link suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and MacPherson strut front suspension.

Both versions can be customized with a variety of accessories and packages. Basic comfort and convenience features include speed-proportional power steering, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, front seat-back storage, front console with storage, audio controls on the steering wheel, climate control, interior active charcoal air filter, variable-intermittent rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, low fuel level warning indicator, tachometer, trip computer, power convertible roof glass rear window (Roadster version only), external temperature display, alloy trim on the dashboard, alloy and leather trim on the center console, sport front seats, premium leather upholstery, height adjustable driver and passenger seats, and leather trim on the shift knob and doors.

Entertainment features include AM/FM in-dash single CD player, pre-wiring for phone, Telematics system, one subwoofer, ten speakers, mast antenna, CD-controller stereo, and radio data system.

Safety features include front- and rear-ventilated disc brakes, emergency braking assist, traction and stability control, dual front side-mounted airbags, passenger airbag occupant-sensing deactivation, two front headrests, engine immobilizer, emergency interior trunk release, child seat anchors, dual front side-mounted airbags, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps, tire pressure monitoring, headlamp high-pressure washers, electronic brake-force distribution, dusk-sensing headlamps, height-adjustable headrests, and daytime running lights.

The M1 was the first M-labeled car from BMW and it was originally built as a pure race car and then re-engineered and detuned for the street. The street version was originally produced for the purpose of homologation in endurance racing series. Homologation required all cars competing in the series to be based on a production model forcing BMW to make the street version. The M products became a major marketing tool for BMW, especially in the U.S. This led them to improve the products and expand the car line containing the designation. Now all the BMW M cars are direct competitors to Mercedes-Benz' AMG division products.

The BMW M Roadster was introduced in 2006 sporting a new six-speed manual transmission, aluminum hubs, iron rotors, and majority of its suspension components borrowed from the M3, and a hydraulic steering setup.
