Posted on: 05/13/2003 07:16 PM | We recently had the chance to stay at a wonderful new
property in the Big Easy called Loft 523. It is owned by
the Same company that owns the larger International hous.
Loft 523 has 18 rooms and a swinging barf where they hold
some great special events |

a typing impediment. However it lends itself to a great deal
of unbelievably funny stuff. |

barf) -- can anyone recommend other places to stay? What
about restaurants? |

International House Hotel a block away, it also is very
nice. On the same trip we also stayed at The Hotel
Monteleone in the French Quarter, it is much older having
opened in 1886 and caters to a slightly older more
conservative crowd than the Loft 523 or the International
House.
For restaurants, you first and possible only choice is
Mothers Tavern on Poydras a few blocks from the Loft and
International House. This not the gentrified version of New
Orleans cooking you see on the food channel, this is the
real thing.
