Posted on: 10/22/2005 09:16 AM | I own a bar. Therefore every man in the place has felt like
it was their purpose in life to tell me what is wrong with
my car. I must have 15 different opinions, from the ABS (he
called it the anti-burglary system), BRAKES DUMMY!, to the
fuel pump (possible, but working well) and we know what
opinions are like.
Here's my problem...My 93 TransAm starts fine. The first
start of the day. From there I don't know if it will start
again. Sometimes it just dies while I'm driving. I think
that I'm noticing the slightest drop in power right before
it dies. My fuel filter is new, the injectors bleed well,
it has plenty of crank (until it dies trying), and if I
leave it alone for about 3-4 hours it will fire right up.
Also, after it dies, the battery (new) guage is on the side
of discharge, almost into the red. Jumping it only helps to
bring the battery back up. It doesn't necessarily cause it
to start.
The closest scenario I have heard was his anti-theft device
had to be bypassed. His symptoms were identical. |
