Posted on: 10/20/2004 05:17 AM | Hiya,
Could I ask if anybody can suggest any cars that have door
handles that are easily opened? I have very long manicured
nails ($50 a month to maintain) and am really scared of
breaking one when opening car doors. I'd be looking to
spend up to $10,000 for a used car so any nail-friendly
suggestions would be great!

friendly despite automaker efforts to resolve the problem.
I prefer handles that allow me to grab them from above --
so I can see where my fingers are going -- rather than with
my palm facing up.
I have found that the more expensive a vehicle the more
feedback one gets from the parts. Meaning that they feel
more solid and predicatable. Mercedes, Lexus, Audi, BMW,
Infinit all have good handles, and good buttons and
switches. Remember if your nails are wet how do you get the
seat belt on? How do you select a radio station or a
temperature for the HVAC system?
Generally we have found that women who love to have their
nails done -- me too in the past -- also like a bit of
luxury. And they don't want their cars to break down
either, so reliability is also important. If that is also
important, sitck to Mini, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Acura,
Lexus, Audi, Volvo and Mercedes products for good repair
records. Stay away from Chevy's, Hummers, Pontiacs, Fords,
Chryslers, Dodge, Jeep and other low-end vehicle
manufacturers. They have to cut corners to keep their
prices low. |
