Cars from Volkswagen behave with precise manners of Germany automobiles but also come with affordable price points. This year brings a fresh crop as VW rolls out the next generation of designs for Jetta, Passat and the GTI. Leading this cavalcade of revamped models is the next design of Volkswagen's compact-class Jetta sedan.

Jetta for 2006 is new from chassis to powertrain to roofline. It features an expanded structure which brings more room in the five-seat cabin and more on-board safety systems including standard curtain-style side air bags. Jetta's sleek package looks bold in style with a dominant face and sophisticated body curves evident.

It scores a V6 upgrade or a new base powertrain with five cylinders and displacement of 2.5 liters through five cylinders producing 150 hp. Also new is a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic shifting, and a revolutionary automated manual transmission.
