2003 Ford Escort ZX2 Compact Sport Coupe

Ford's two-door hatchback coupe is round but slinky with a hint of aggression from a low-slung prow cut by a broad air scoop and teardrop headlamps. Derived from the former sub-compact Escort, ZX2 is the price-leader in Ford's line but it feels feisty due to a Zetec four-in-line engine pumping 130 hp. Trims focus on three designations of Standard, Deluxe and Premium, all with standard features like power mirrors, premium stereo and a spoiler for the tail. More equipment arrives in 2003, such as a stereo kit with in-dash CD deck plus leather-wrapped steering wheel and map light for Deluxe and power controls on windows and door locks plus a remote keyless entry system and anti-theft device for Premium. Latest shades of ZX2 body paint are Bright Island Blue and Mandarin Copper.
