Clear a path for the debut of a new M6 2 + 2 super coupe -- the most outrageously powerful 6-Series BMW ever. All of the thrust for M6 stems from a 5.0-liter V10 that blows the doors off with 507 hp and massive torque through a seven-speed sequential manual gearbox (SMG) that brings both automatic and manual shift programs. BMW projects the zero-to-60 acceleration time for this new super car to clock in around four seconds and change.

A face-lift for BMW's full-size 7-Series luxury/performance sedans is also in sight, following the unveiling of fresh styling at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Powertrains for 740i and 760i will score a boost and the exterior package shows refined lines and more chrome details.

BMW's line of 5-Series models grows with three new all-wheel-drive (AWD) models -- sedans labeled as 525xi and 530xi plus a sport wagon 530xi. The 530xi sport wagon also brings extra gear like Hill Descent Control (HDC) and a panorama sliding roof, with options for a head-up display and adaptive headlamps.

A number of new BMW models, presently in production, land in North America during 2005. First ashore will be the next generation of designs for BMW's best-selling 3-Series string of compact cars.
