Three-time POWERade Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher drew within 54 points of the championship lead with his fifth Mac Tools U.S. Nationals victory since 2000. Fuller Holds on for Top Spot; Hight, Anderson, Smith also Maintain Leads

Defending Memphis champion "Hot Rod" Fuller held onto the No. 1 position in Top Fuel through Saturday's heat to claim the second low qualifier award of his career with a 4.575 at 318.54 mph. Schumacher Finally Breaks Through

Reigning Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher waited until the 12th race of 2006 to score his first win of the year. His 4.565-second pass at 327 mph Sunday evening was too much for a tire-smoking Brandon Bernstein, and it gave Schumacher the trophy of the $1.3 million O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol.
