Statistics Show Deaths from Drinking & Driving Are Too High - What Can Be Done? The Leading Researcher for AAA Texas Sheds Some Light on the Issue

Dallas, Texas -- Texas continues to lead the nation in the number of alcohol-related deaths. As of 2003 - the latest year statistics are available - more people died on Texas roadways as a result of drinking and driving than in any other state in the country.

Although the numbers are decreasing, the problem is still huge. AAA members tell us that they think drinking and driving is the greatest safety concern on the roadway, significantly greater than either distracted driving or aggressive driving.

Dr. Steve Bloch, the leading researcher at AAA Texas, can speak to a number of measures that may help reduce drinking and driving related injuries and deaths.

He'll also be a guest speaker at the Traffic Safety Forum in Dallas, Texas, which will be held at the American Red Cross building at 4800 Harry Hines Blvd, on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Dr. Bloch will speak at 10:10 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. on "A National Perspective - What Works?"
