CARB’s New Diesel Idling Program Would Require New Idling Controls for Trucks

The California Air Resource Board (CARB) recently proposed a program which focuses on the reduction of emissions and pollutants by limiting idling of new heavy-duty diesel vehicles. Incident at Severstal Steel at Ford Rouge Center

Earlier today a steel hauling unit owned by Severstal Steel was transporting molten steel and became lodged exiting a storage bay on Severstal property. As reported to Ford, molten steel sloshed out of the carrier causing at least one of the carrier's tires to explode.

HUMMER Enhances Warranty Coverage On 2006 Models

Detroit, Mich. – GM’s HUMMER brand announced today that it is enhancing the warranty on all of its 2006 model year vehicles to a four years or 50,000 miles. HUMMER products previously were covered by GM’s standard three-year/36,000-mile warranty plan.
