Permit

Age 15 1/2

Requirements

Under 18 application must be co-signed by parent or legal guardian.

Restrictions

  • Must carry Red/White paper permit & photo ID when driving.
  • Must have Ohio licensed driver at least 21 occupy the seat next to driver.
  • All occupants must wear every safety belt component.
  • Passengers limited to number of safety belts originally installed by vehicle manufacturer.

Under Age 16 - Licensed Ohio driver must be driver's parent, guardian or certified driving Instructor.

Under Age 17 - Not to drive between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. unless with a parent or guardian.

Probationary License

Age 16+

  • Under 18 application must be co-signed by parent or legal guardian.
  • Under 18 must have held Permit minimum 6 months.
  • Under 18 must have completed 50 hours supervised driving, including 10 hours at night.
