New Product Protects Women from Devious Shop Owners

Global Learning Solutions, a Voorhees, New Jersey-based consulting and product development firm today launched a unique new product that will take female drivers by storm: Car Care for Women.

"The Prime Time Live Expos? Lube Shop Pitfalls on February 19 drew attention to the practices of some auto service shops that sell unnecessary and costly services to women", said Ron Lynch, Partner in the firm. "Our product teaches more than maintenance; it instills confidence and self - reliance."

Car Care for Women is an interactive CD-ROM covering over 30 key areas of vehicle systems and maintenance including how to choose a repair shop, how to safely jump-start a car, replace the oil-and many other preventive maintenance and emergency repair tasks. It uses text, live action video and graphics to make even complex procedures seem easy-and the women performing the tasks are coached along by ASE Master Technician Pete Bilotta-a 25-year veteran in automotive training.

According to author and futurist Tom Peters, "Those who pay attention to women in business have a competitive advantage in the new millennium." Recent market data indicates that 83% of women are responsible for at least some of their vehicle maintenance. The Detroit News similarly reported that women spend an average of $4,550 each year on service, accessories, or gas for their cars.
